An X user shared that the combined capacity of natural gas turbines that have been installed, are in operation, or are under construction by xAI has reached 460 megawatts. Moreover, xAI is poised to become the first company to achieve a capacity of 1 gigawatt at a single data center site. In response to this, Musk remarked that 1 gigawatt is merely a modest target. He pointed out that for a sustained high-power demand of 100 gigawatts, reliance on solar energy and batteries might become indispensable. When the power demand surpasses 1 terawatt, solar power and batteries will emerge as the only viable option.
