At OCP 2026 in San Jose, Vishal Chandrasekar, Director of Product Management at Ayar Labs, presents an upgraded version of the company’s co-packaged optics (CPO) rack at the Wiwynn partner booth. Building on the first-generation rack shown at OFC, Computex, and AI Infra, the new system aims to show that CPO for optical scale-up can be manufactured and delivered at scale.

Ayar Labs, Wiwynn, and Corning show what an optical scale-up rack looks like in practice, with dense chassis of ELSFPs, fiber routing, and a central patch panel. The architecture supports more than 64 GPUs per rack and points toward scale-up domains of 500, 1,000, or more GPUs. The video also debuts Ayar Labs’ first live demo of optical engines built on TSMC’s COUPE platform in a rack form factor. The demo addresses one of the central questions in CPO deployment: whether optical engines stay thermally stable in demanding data center environments.
