Red Hat expands Oracle Cloud Infrastructure integration with first-party RHEL, OpenShift and Ansible marketplace subscriptions, and Oracle workload validations.

Red Hat is expanding its hybrid cloud portfolio on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), introducing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) as a first-party offering directly through the OCI Console. Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, RHEL, Red Hat OpenShift, and OpenShift Virtualization subscriptions are also available through Oracle Marketplace.

RHEL 9 and 10 images are optimized for Intel- and AMD-based OCI virtual instances, with integration into OCI monitoring, APIs, CLI, and console. Customers may apply Oracle Universal Credits, with pay-as-you-go metering per Oracle CPU-hour and Oracle front-line support.

RED HAT + ORACLE CLOUD | KEY DEVELOPMENTS
Native RHELRHEL 9 and 10, Intel and AMD OCI virtual instances
MarketplaceAnsible, RHEL, OpenShift and OpenShift Virtualization subscriptions
ProcurementOracle Universal Credits and CPU-hour billing for RHEL for OCI
InteroperabilityOracle AI Database 26ai on RHEL 8–10; specified on-premises RAC and WebLogic OpenShift Virtualization validations

Oracle AI Database 26ai is certified on RHEL 8, 9 and 10. Oracle RAC on Database 19c and Oracle AI Database 26ai have received Red Hat validation for on-premises OpenShift Virtualization deployments. Oracle WebLogic Server is also validated for OpenShift Virtualization.

Analysis

Native RHEL availability reduces migration friction for enterprises already operating Red Hat Linux on-premises. OCI telemetry and procurement integration offer familiar operations and billing pathways. OpenShift Virtualization provides a Kubernetes-based route to manage virtual machines alongside containers, but the Oracle RAC validation described in the announcement applies to on-premises deployment, not a blanket OCI certification. The collaboration complements OCI’s AI infrastructure investments with enterprise operating-system and automation options; no new accelerator, networking performance benchmark, revenue target, or customer adoption figure was announced.
