According to the latest report from TrendForce, contract prices for PC DDR4 modules are anticipated to climb by 13%-18% in the second quarter of 2025. Meanwhile, Server DDR4 module prices are expected to increase by 18%-23% on a quarter-over-quarter basis. Both these increases are notably larger than initially predicted. The primary catalyst behind this price surge is the gradual reduction in Server and PC DDR4 output by major DRAM suppliers. As DDR4 gives way to newer generations, such as DDR5, suppliers are reallocating their resources towards products offering higher profit margins. This shift has resulted in a decline in DDR4 supply, ultimately driving prices upwards.
