According to the 2024 EU Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboard recently published by the European Commission, Alphabet, the parent company of Google, emerged as the top investor in research and development (R&D) with €39.8 billion, closely followed by Meta and Apple in second and third place, respectively. Huawei, with R&D investment of €19 billion, secured the sixth position, marking it as the highest-ranked Chinese enterprise on the list. This survey focused on the top 2000 companies worldwide that invested the most in R&D during the 2023 fiscal year, encompassing 322 EU enterprises, 681 US enterprises, and 579 Chinese enterprises.
