The State Administration for Market Regulation has approved and released two new national standards — "Basic Terminology of Biochips" and "Microarray Chips for Detecting DNA Polymorphism of Human Disease Susceptibility" — both of which will take effect on February 1, 2027. Among them, "Basic Terminology of Biochips" replaces the 2011 edition, which has been in force for over a decade. The updated standard systematically reconstructs the industry's conceptual framework, closely tracks technological advances and industry needs by adding a number of core terms, refines basic definitions, covers four major sections, and encompasses the mainstream product types currently on the market. It will effectively eliminate conceptual ambiguities in technical exchanges and facilitate academic research, industrial collaboration, and international alignment.
