China’s A-share market witnessed a collective downturn across its three primary indices. The Shanghai Composite Index declined by 0.82%, while the Shenzhen Component Index fell 2.92%. The innovation-centric ChiNext Index and the STAR Market Index experienced steeper declines, dropping 4.45% and 4.46%, respectively.
Leading the losses were sectors such as communication equipment, electronic components, and semiconductors. Notably, Huazheng Composite Materials hit the daily downward limit, TFC Communication plummeted over 19%, and Dapu Micro slid nearly 12%. In contrast, the coal, banking, and oil & gas sectors bucked the trend, with China Shenhua, Bank of Nanjing, and PetroChina all surging more than 3%.
