As per an announcement made by the Taiwan Stock Exchange on October 29, TSMC has acquired nine factories and the related facilities situated in Taichung City from AU Optronics. The transaction, valued at NT$38.8 billion (equivalent to approximately US$1.2 billion), is earmarked for TSMC's operational and production activities. AU Optronics anticipates reaping profits of roughly NT$18.5 billion from this deal. The company clarified that this strategic move is intended to propel its asset-light operational approach, energize its assets, and refine its financial framework.
