Recently, a Reddit user recounted their experience of attempting to purchase a Gigabyte Snow Eagle RTX 5090 white edition graphics card at a seemingly unbeatable half-price deal—AED 14,916 (equivalent to approximately RMB 29,000)—via Amazon Resale, the official second-hand marketplace on Amazon UAE. Upon unboxing the product, the user was met with unmistakable signs of tampering and repair. The power supply interface's small connector was precariously loose, the fan connector on the rear side was disconnected, and the screws securing the components were slack once the heat sink was removed. Residue from thermal paste clung to the heat sink, while the graphics card's core chip and PCB were conspicuously absent, hinting at a possible scam where the chip had been removed and swapped out. The user has since initiated a return request with Amazon but is still awaiting a definitive response regarding a refund.
