Lately, the research team hailing from the Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences at Tsinghua University has marked a significant milestone in the realm of scalable generation of photonic graph states. Leveraging superconducting quantum circuits, the team has adeptly stitched together small-scale photonic entangled resource states into larger-scale, programmable-structured photonic graph states on a dynamic microwave photon platform. This feat was accomplished by successfully realizing true many-body entanglement among 13 photonic qubits. This breakthrough transcends the probabilistic limitations inherent in traditional photon fusion techniques, thereby paving a fresh technological avenue for measurement-based quantum computing and quantum networks. The pertinent research findings have been duly published in the esteemed journal Nature Physics.
