ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) has unveiled significant advancements in the development of its innovative 4F² DRAM architecture. This new design leverages cutting-edge VSG (Vertical Surrounding Gate) channel transistor technology, which effectively tackles challenges related to leakage and short-channel effects, while simultaneously boosting memory density. CXMT is on track to introduce a new line of DDR5 RDIMM products incorporating this technology by year’s end. The announcement has triggered a widespread downturn in the stock prices of major global memory companies, including Micron, SK Hynix, and Samsung. Over recent years, CXMT has seen its share of the global DRAM market surge, now accounting for roughly 10%. Earlier, CXMT attracted considerable international interest after its listing on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's STAR Market. Despite widespread belief that its advanced memory technology trailed behind that of global leaders, this breakthrough has fundamentally shifted investor views on the competitive edge of these industry giants. Presently, firms like Apple are in the process of evaluating CXMT’s relevant offerings.
