On October 2, South Korean media outlet Maeil Business reported that Samsung Electronics has established the 2027 supply price for its HBM4 memory at over three times that of its current flagship offering, HBM3E, and has initiated negotiations with customers. Samsung Electronics has proposed a pricing range of $4 to $5 per gigabyte, a significant increase from the approximately $1.5 per gigabyte for HBM3E. HBM4 boasts a stable data transfer speed of 11.7Gbps, with a peak capacity of 13Gbps. Market research firm TrendForce forecasts that, driven by a growing proportion of HBM4 adoption and supply constraints, the average selling price of HBM will surge by 121% in 2027 compared to this year.
