Based on a report from South Korea's ZDNet, which cited sources within the component industry, Samsung Display is slated to initiate mass production of AMOLED panels for the Galaxy S27 series this month. The production of certain components got underway last month, with a notable acceleration anticipated around mid-October. Nevertheless, this does not imply that the phone will hit the market this year. Instead, the panels are projected to be stockpiled from the end of this year through to next year, with the S27 series potentially making its debut in early 2027.

Furthermore, Samsung's Exynos 2700 processor has entered mass production, boasting a 10% increase in yield compared to its predecessor. This processor will be incorporated into the Galaxy S27, S27 Plus, and S27 Pro models. Specifically, the variants sold in South Korea and Europe will be equipped with this processor, whereas the U.S. and Chinese markets will feature Qualcomm's sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 series.

Samsung Display is also in the process of evaluating a half-tone black PDL process. This process is expected to streamline production by reducing the number of photomasks used in the CoE process from six to five, consequently cutting down on manufacturing costs. The company is considering implementing this process for the OLED panels of the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
