Samsung Electronics announced on Tuesday that it has joined a consortium led by Dutch semiconductor equipment maker ASML to jointly develop next-generation semiconductor manufacturing technology. The South Korean tech firm stated that the collaboration will focus on the development of 12-inch photomask technology to replace the decades-old 6-inch photomask format.
