TSMC is actively expanding its production capacity, with 13 wafer fabs currently under construction simultaneously in Taiwan and plans to build 5 to 6 overseas, marking an unprecedented scale. TSMC Senior Vice President Hou Yongqing revealed at the 2026 Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Forum that since the end of last year, TSMC's demand for chip manufacturing tools has nearly doubled. In July, the quarterly equipment procurement estimate was raised to 1.9 times the forecast made in December last year, representing a growth rate unseen in 30 years.
