Union Memory has introduced the UM301a, an M.2 80 form factor solid-state drive (SSD) that operates without DRAM, explicitly tailored for enterprise-level applications. This cutting-edge product utilizes a PCIe Gen4 ×4 interface and adheres to the NVMe 1.4b protocol, presenting users with three distinct capacity choices: 480GB, 960GB, and 1.92TB. Across the entire product lineup, sequential read speeds can soar up to 5000MB/s. Specifically, the 1.92TB variant achieves sequential write speeds of 2500MB/s, 4KB random read speeds of 350K IOPS, and random write speeds of 12K IOPS. When it comes to latency, the entire series maintains an average sequential read/write latency of 20μs, an average random read latency of 110μs, and a random write latency of 100μs. Moreover, the drive's endurance is remarkable, reaching 0.5 DWPD (Drive Writes Per Day) or 912.5 TBW/TB (Total Bytes Written per Terabyte).
A standout feature of the UM301a is its DRAM-less design. This innovative approach effectively mitigates the risk of system downtime stemming from unrecoverable DDR errors.
