According to a report by The Wall Street Journal on August 9, in response to the memory shortage triggered by the artificial intelligence boom, Apple is testing memory chips from ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) for potential use in its product lines such as iPhones and MacBooks. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that Apple has engaged in preliminary discussions with CXMT regarding component supply, with plans to adopt these chips in some devices sold in China. Previously, Reuters reported that CXMT is considering building a second memory chip factory in Beijing to boost production capacity. Additionally, HP and Acer have started using CXMT's chips in devices sold in markets outside the United States to alleviate supply constraints.
