On August 4 (local time), the Kumamoto Kawashiri Plant of Renesas Electronics resumed operations in stages ahead of schedule. The company plans to reinstate its pre-earthquake production capacity within roughly three weeks after resuming work. Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation revealed at the end of last month that its Kumamoto Technology Center, which had halted operations due to the Kumamoto earthquake on July 28, had finished safety inspections and repairs. The center is set to resume operations in phases starting from August 4, with full production capacity anticipated to be recovered by mid-August. Additionally, it was reported that TSMC's Kumamoto First Factory has returned to normal operations after undergoing inspections and adjustments following the earthquake. The building's safety has been confirmed, although there was a slight delay in equipment adjustments. Two factories of Tokyo Electron in Kumamoto Prefecture also restarted operations on August 3.
