Recently, the research team led by Academician Zhang Jie and Associate Professor Wu Yipeng from the Tsung-Dao Lee Institute, School of Physics and Astronomy, and the State Key Laboratory of Dark Matter Physics at Shanghai Jiao Tong University has achieved remarkable breakthroughs in the field of relativistic structured light fields. Focusing on intense high-order harmonic vector beams generated through laser-solid target interactions, as well as the characteristics of attosecond pulses, the team has conducted in-depth research. Their related findings, presented in the paper titled "Generating intense attosecond pulses and vectorizing polarization states from laser plasma interactions," were published in Optica, a renowned international journal in the field of optics, and were selected as the cover story of the current issue. This study offers a systematic analysis of the interaction between lasers and solid targets, unveiling the generation mechanism of intense high-order harmonic vector beams and demonstrating their potential applications in synthesizing isolated attosecond vector pulses. This accomplishment paves the way for new research directions in ultrafast intense light-matter interactions, particularly in achieving full control over angular momentum and polarization states.
