Tata Electronics has announced plans to construct India’s first large-scale wafer fabrication plant in Dholera, Gujarat. Initially, the facility’s mass production will focus on the 90-nanometer process, a shift from the previously declared 28-nanometer technology. Tata Electronics clarified that the Dholera plant will encompass a wide range of process nodes, spanning from 28nm to 110nm. The company intends to commence operations with 55nm and 90nm technologies, with a subsequent upgrade to 28nm at a later stage. To bolster the development of the semiconductor industry, the Indian government has sanctioned a substantial subsidy of INR 1.28 trillion.
