AMD's Chief Technology Officer, Mark Papermaster, has officially confirmed that the company will unveil its inaugural server processor built on the Zen 6 architecture—the EPYC 'Venice'—at the upcoming 'Advancing AI' event scheduled for July 22-23. This processor has been meticulously optimized to cater to the rigorous demands of conventional x86 enterprise-level workloads. Leveraging TSMC's cutting-edge 2nm process technology, the EPYC 'Venice' will be available in multiple models, distinguished by their underlying architectures: Zen 6 and Zen 6C. The Zen 6C variant boasts an impressive integration of up to 256 cores, whereas the Zen 6 version accommodates up to 96 cores. Collectively, these enhancements result in an overall performance boost exceeding 70% compared to its predecessor, with memory bandwidth soaring to a remarkable 1.6TB/s.
