On July 6, industry organization SemiAnalysis pointed out on Monday that NVIDIA's (NVDA.O) next-generation flagship product—the Kyber rack-level architecture designed for its 2027 Rubin Ultra chip—has been delayed to 2028, over 12 months later than planned, due to obstacles in manufacturing key circuit boards. This has further heightened market concerns about NVIDIA's product planning. According to SemiAnalysis's report, the primary reason for the delay is the manufacturing challenge of the core PCB midplane in the system, as NVIDIA currently lacks a mature solution to scale up the Rubin Ultra. This setback may create opportunities for competitors such as AMD (AMD.O) and Google (GOOG.O) in the high-end market, as both companies' in-house chips are already being used in top AI labs.
