Samsung Electronics has expedited the development of its Pyeongtaek P5 Fab2 project by approximately six months, with the groundbreaking ceremony now slated for July and construction equipment already mobilized on-site. This facility marks the sixth addition to Samsung's Pyeongtaek campus and represents the final semiconductor production line at the site. Built upon a foundation of 300mm wafers, the plant is projected to achieve a monthly production capacity ranging from 200,000 to 300,000 units, with initial production targeted for 2029. The scope of the factory encompasses the production of High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), next-generation DRAM, NAND flash memory, as well as the provision of advanced process foundry services.
