On June 22, Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF International Securities, revealed that Google is set to develop an advanced chip, internally codenamed Triggerfish. This new chip will be based on the TPU v9, also known as Humufish, with MediaTek being the sole recipient of the new orders. Throughout the lifecycle of Humufish, the estimated shipment volume remains steady at 4 million to 5 million units. In addition to this, Google has placed orders for 1 million to 2 million units of Triggerfish. Production is anticipated to kick off by the end of 2027, with a significant increase in production volume expected in 2028. Notably, the unit price of Triggerfish is roughly 30% higher than that of Humufish, and it is poised to serve as a fresh catalyst for MediaTek's performance growth in 2028.
