Phison, a manufacturer of SSD controller chips, recently unveiled its new PCIe 6.0 SSD controller, the X3. This controller can achieve sequential read and write speeds of up to 28GB/s, with random read and write IOPS reaching as high as 6.8 million, all while consuming only 7 watts of power. It is expected to enter mass production in mid-2027. Meanwhile, Phison also showcased its new DRAM-less PCIe 5.0 SSD controller, the E37T, which offers performance comparable to its flagship controller, the E28, but with 50% lower power consumption, making it ideal for creating energy-efficient, low-heat SSDs.
