On Tuesday, South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy declared that it would optimize the import procedures for extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines. EUV machines stand as a pivotal element in semiconductor fabrication, and this initiative is designed to elevate the manufacturing prowess of South Korea's chip sector. As per the amended enforcement regulations of the High-Pressure Gas Safety Management Act, the import duration for EUV machines will be reduced from 34 days to roughly 9 days. This will facilitate companies like Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix in swiftly procuring the necessary equipment and expediting the establishment of cutting-edge production lines.
