On May 15, Samsung Electronics' Korean labor union stated on Friday that the tech company has proposed to resume negotiations unconditionally. This comes after government-mediated talks on wages and bonuses broke down. The union expressed willingness to negotiate after June 7 but maintained its strike plan starting from May 21, which could disrupt production operations at the world's largest memory chip manufacturer. Samsung Electronics confirmed the proposal for unconditional negotiations in a statement but offered no further comment. The Samsung union had stated on Thursday that it would be willing to negotiate if the company submitted a detailed proposal addressing the union's demands before 01:00 GMT (9:00 AM Beijing Time) on Friday.
