Harnessing the expertise of its subsidiary, OptoLink, USI is set to ramp up its research and development endeavors in cutting-edge areas such as silicon photonics, critical components for Co-Packaged Optics (CPO), and integrated solutions. This strategic move signifies USI's formal foray into the burgeoning AI high-speed optical interconnect market.
Furthermore, USI has outlined plans to channel investments into its Haiphong facility in Vietnam, aiming to establish a robust production capability of 100,000 800G/1.6T silicon photonics optical modules on a monthly basis. This expansion is poised to cater to the surging demand emanating from the North American market.
