USI, a key subsidiary under the ASE Holding umbrella, is making significant strides in penetrating the high-speed optical communication and AI-driven optical interconnect domains. This year marks a pivotal moment as the company embarks on a comprehensive rollout of its 800G product line, encompassing the entire manufacturing spectrum from optical engines to optical modules.
Harnessing the expertise of its subsidiary, OptoLink, USI is set to ramp up its research and development endeavors in cutting-edge areas such as silicon photonics, critical components for Co-Packaged Optics (CPO), and integrated solutions. This strategic move signifies USI's formal foray into the burgeoning AI high-speed optical interconnect market.
Furthermore, USI has outlined plans to channel investments into its Haiphong facility in Vietnam, aiming to establish a robust production capability of 100,000 800G/1.6T silicon photonics optical modules on a monthly basis. This expansion is poised to cater to the surging demand emanating from the North American market.
