On April 7, news emerged that the DF30, China's first high-performance automotive-grade MCU chip, which was developed under the auspices of Dongfeng Motor, has been seamlessly integrated into an engine Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and is making steady progress toward mass production and vehicle integration. Leveraging an independent open-source RISC-V multi-core architecture and employing a 40nm automotive-grade manufacturing process, the chip attains a functional safety level of ASIL-D, the highest rating in the automotive industry. It has undergone and successfully passed 295 rigorous tests, ensuring its reliability and compatibility with the domestic AutoSAR operating system. The DF30 chip has been validated in models such as the Dongfeng eπ007, Mengshi M817, and Dongfeng Fengshen Haohan, demonstrating its versatility in applications like powertrain control and vehicle chassis management.
