Last year, TSMC secured a dominant 70% share of the global foundry market, outpacing its competitors with its cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing processes. At present, TSMC's most advanced mass-produced technology is the 2nm process, while its development of the 1nm process is well underway. It has been reported that establishing a site for the 1nm process facility entails acquiring land within a designated industrial park. Shalun Park in Tainan, spanning a vast area of 531 hectares, is set to undergo the second phase of its environmental impact assessment in April this year. The final assessment is anticipated to be concluded by the third quarter of 2027.
