On March 16, analysts from Bernstein stated in a research report that the Middle East conflict is not expected to disrupt helium supply or chip manufacturing. The report noted that although Qatar is the producer of one-third of the global helium supply, company inventories, underground storage, increased supply from Russia, and the deepening relationships between chip manufacturers and industrial gas companies all provide assurance for helium supply. In recent years, the growth in helium supply has outpaced demand growth, and Russia has increased its production due to its abundant reserves. Furthermore, even in the event of a helium shortage, chip manufacturers will receive priority supply, as semiconductor foundries are relatively less sensitive to price fluctuations.
