On February 27th, insiders revealed that a senior executive from ASML, the Dutch photolithography equipment manufacturer, announced that the company's latest extreme ultraviolet (EUV) photolithography machine is now ready, paving the way for chip manufacturers to embark on large-scale production. Priced at around $400 million per unit, this new equipment costs twice as much as the initial EUV model. ASML’s Chief Technology Officer, Marco Posth, highlighted that the machine has already processed a cumulative total of approximately 500,000 silicon wafers. It has demonstrated minimal downtime, and its pattern accuracy fully complies with the stringent standards required for mass production.
