This processor is built on the Zen 5 core architecture and incorporates second - generation 3D V - Cache technology. Its base clock speed has been jacked up to 5.6GHz, which is a 400MHz increase compared to its forerunner, all while keeping the Thermal Design Power (TDP) at 120W. It comes equipped with 8 cores and 16 threads, boasting a total cache capacity of 104MB.
When it comes to performance, the 9850X3D outperforms the 9800X3D in gaming by an average of 7%. Moreover, it's a whopping 27% faster on average than the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, with peak performance enhancements reaching up to 60%. This powerhouse of a processor is set to hit the market in the first quarter of 2026, and it's anticipated to carry a price tag similar to that of the 9800X3D.
