On January 4, 2026, the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, and the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission jointly released a document. This document outlined a plan to establish 10 national-level pilot production platforms for the manufacturing sector in Beijing by 2030, and to back the development of 50 municipal-level pilot production platforms.
Pilot production represents a vital phase in the process of transforming scientific and technological achievements into industrial applications. Currently, the first batch of 146 pilot production platforms has been identified, mainly operating in areas such as pharmaceuticals and healthcare, new materials, and intelligent equipment.
The document clarifies that qualified pilot production platforms will be eligible for financial grants, with the maximum amount reaching up to 100 million yuan. This initiative is set to drive innovation and foster growth within Beijing's manufacturing landscape.
