Recently, the Phase IV project of Nexchip Integration, which involves a staggering total investment of 35.5 billion yuan, officially kicked off construction in Hefei New Station. This ambitious undertaking aims to set up a 12-inch wafer foundry production line. Once completed, it will boast a monthly production capacity of 55,000 wafers and will incorporate advanced 40nm and 28nm processes for CIS (CMOS Image Sensor), OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode), logic, and other technologies. The products from this production line will find extensive applications across various cutting-edge fields, including OLED display panels, AI-enabled smartphones, AI-powered computers, intelligent vehicles, and the broader realm of artificial intelligence. According to the project schedule, equipment installation will commence, and production will be initiated in the fourth quarter of 2026. Full production capacity is anticipated to be achieved by the second quarter of 2028.
