Samsung’s Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk convened at the semiconductor plant in Taylor, Texas, to further solidify their partnership in chip manufacturing. The discussions centered on strategies to maximize production yield rates at the Taylor facility. Notably, Samsung has already secured a substantial $16.5 billion order for AI6 chips from Tesla. The plant is slated for completion in 2026 and will initially employ a 4nm manufacturing process, with plans to subsequently upgrade to 2nm technology. This move is aimed at reducing the competitive gap with TSMC in the wafer foundry market.
