Recently, Professor Guo Yiping's research team from the State Key Laboratory of Metal Matrix Composites at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, has achieved remarkable advancements in the realm of flexible piezoelectric sensing. Their research, titled "Auxetic-Assisted Decoupling Strategy for High-Sensitivity Multimodal Sensing of Temperature and Strain," has been published in Advanced Functional Materials, a globally recognized materials science journal.

This study introduces an innovative strain-temperature dual-parameter decoupling strategy, leveraging a "rotated-square" negative Poisson's ratio structure. This approach enables highly accurate multimodal perception in environments where thermal and mechanical effects are strongly coupled. It overcomes the long-standing technical challenge of signal interference that traditional sensors face when subjected to multiple physical fields simultaneously. The research findings highlight the exceptional performance of the proposed method in maintaining stable operation under complex, multi-parameter conditions, thereby offering vital technical backing for the advancement of next-generation intelligent, environmentally adaptive sensing systems.
