Recently, the research team led by Yaoxuri and Zhao Qing from the Quantum Technology Research Center, School of Physics, at the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), has made remarkable strides in the area of compact single-pixel imaging. Leveraging metalenses, the team successfully accomplished single-photon-level microscopic single-pixel imaging. Their findings were published in Advanced Optical Materials and were chosen as the cover article. This exceptionally compact system demonstrates single-photon sensitivity and offers tremendous potential in fields such as low-light imaging of live cells and the creation of portable microscopic imaging devices.
