On November 20, at the 2025 Quantum Science and Industry Conference, Hefei Silicon Spirit Chip Technology Co., Ltd. made a groundbreaking announcement by introducing its inaugural universal programmable quantum computer. This innovation leverages silicon-photonic integrated chips, with photons serving as the quantum bit carriers. In the realm of quantum computing, where the use of photons to represent quantum information (qubits) and integrated photonics chips as the foundational hardware is a cutting-edge approach, this computer stands out for having achieved independent research and development of its core components. Access to this quantum computer is facilitated through a cloud platform, a move that substantially diminishes the complexity and cost associated with system operation and maintenance. This advancement paves a practical and viable technical route for quantum computing to transition beyond the confines of laboratory research and into the realm of industrial applications. At present, the device boasts 4 physical quantum bit resources, making it well-suited for experimental validation in small to medium-scale quantum computing scenarios. Impressively, its average fidelity rates for single-qubit and two-qubit quantum states stand at 99.7% and 99.4%, respectively, indicating high precision and reliability. The system supports visual programming and offers cloud platform interface access, hinting at its vast potential for future applications across diverse fields such as strategy optimization, artificial intelligence, simulation analysis, and information security.
