From November 18 to 19, 2025, a semiconductor dispute with significant implications for the global automotive industry supply chain achieved a crucial breakthrough. According to information on the Ministry of Commerce website, in response to a reporter's question regarding the progress of consultations between China and the Netherlands on the Nexperia semiconductor issue, the Ministry of Commerce stated that government departments from both China and the Netherlands held two rounds of face-to-face consultations in Beijing on the 18th and 19th. During the consultations, China reiterated that the root cause of the disruption in the global semiconductor supply chain lies with the Dutch side and urged the Netherlands to take concrete actions to promptly facilitate the resolution of the Nexperia semiconductor issue and restore the safety and stability of the global semiconductor supply chain. In response, the Dutch side voluntarily proposed to suspend the implementation of relevant administrative orders issued by its Minister of Economic Affairs under the Goods Availability Act.
