According to a report from Bloomberg, Microsoft is set to capitalize on its access to OpenAI's custom AI chip development endeavors to propel its own chip research and development initiatives forward. During a podcast episode aired on Wednesday, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella remarked that even in scenarios where OpenAI drives innovation at the system level, Microsoft will be granted unrestricted access to the outcomes. The strategy involves initially implementing the developed content for OpenAI's benefit, followed by a broader expansion. As per the amended agreement, Microsoft is entitled to access OpenAI's models until 2032, and its research findings until 2030, or until a panel of experts concludes that general AI has been successfully realized.
