In October 2025, AMD announced a strategic collaboration with OpenAI, planning to deploy AMD graphics processors equivalent to 6 gigawatts of computing power for OpenAI over several years starting from 2026. The first batch of 1 gigawatt AMD Instinct MI450 GPUs will commence deployment in the second half of 2026. Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF International Securities, pointed out that as long as the overall AI computing power market continues to grow, the impact of this collaboration on Nvidia's market position will be relatively limited.
