On September 4, NVIDIA's venture capital arm embarked on a groundbreaking venture by making its inaugural investment in the pioneering quantum computing company, Quantinuum. This strategic move is integral to Quantinuum's ongoing funding round, which totals $600 million and places the company's pre-money valuation at an impressive $10 billion. Quantinuum, predominantly owned by Honeywell, has also garnered the interest of new investors such as Quanta Computer and QED Investors, while existing shareholders including JPMorgan Chase, Mitsui & Co., and Amgen have contributed additional funds. The influx of capital will propel Quantinuum's efforts to advance scalable quantum computing, particularly in the development of its next-generation quantum computing system, Helios, positioning the company at the forefront of achieving universal fault-tolerant quantum computing.
