Apple will launch the second-generation AirTag tracker on September 10, boasting significant improvements in tracking range and security features. The new AirTag 2 incorporates Apple's proprietary second-generation Ultra-Wideband (UWB) chip, which extends the tracking range to approximately 60 meters and enhances precision. Furthermore, it features an anti-tampering design and an integrated alarm speaker to thwart unauthorized tracking attempts. A 'Very Low Battery' alert has been introduced, enabling users to monitor battery levels through the 'Find My' app. Additionally, AirTag 2 supports seamless integration with the Vision Pro headset, integrating into its advanced spatial computing system. The battery remains a CR2032 button cell, necessitating manual replacement.
