According to the latest report from the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Evaluation and Planning (KISTEP), China's influence in the semiconductor industry has significantly expanded, now outpacing South Korea in the memory chip market. This assessment is drawn from a 2024 survey involving 39 leading South Korean semiconductor experts. Despite Samsung and SK Hynix retaining their market dominance, China has achieved a notable edge in memory chip technology. Consequently, China now stands as the second-largest player in the global semiconductor market, trailing closely behind the United States.
