Tencent has emerged as one of China's internet giants with the largest inventory of Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). During an interview in May this year, Tencent President Martin Lau disclosed that the company had accumulated a significant amount of GPUs, mitigating any concerns over the potential impact of US export restrictions on AI chips on their product development and launch schedules. He emphasized that this ample chip supply was instrumental in advancing their AI strategy. During the second-quarter earnings call, Tencent's management further affirmed that the company possessed sufficient chips for model training and upgrades, while also having multiple chip options available for inference tasks.
