Google has announced the upcoming launch of an 'Age Verification' feature in the United States within the next few weeks, designed to safeguard users under the age of 18. Upon activation, this feature will trigger a suite of YouTube's digital well-being tools, curtail the recommendation of specific content, deactivate the Maps Timeline feature, and restrict the display of personalized and potentially sensitive advertisements. Furthermore, it will prevent minors from accessing adult-oriented apps on Google Play. These initiatives are aimed at bolstering the protection afforded to underage users.
