In response to the grave situation in the Gaza Strip of Palestine, the European Commission has proposed suspending Israel's participation in select components of its flagship research initiative, 'Horizon Europe'. Upon approval of this proposal, Israeli startups and small enterprises specializing in areas such as cybersecurity, drones, and artificial intelligence will be excluded from engaging in certain projects. The proposal garnered an overwhelming majority of support during the meeting of EU commissioners.
