South Korean President Lee Jae-myung declared on Friday his unwavering commitment to fully supporting the artificial intelligence (AI) industry, aiming to establish it as the nation's foremost driver of economic growth. His pledge came during his visit to the AI data center construction project jointly initiated by SK Group and Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Ulsan City, situated approximately 305 kilometers southeast of Seoul. The ambitious project is designed to construct South Korea's largest dedicated AI data center, with phased expansion plans in place, ultimately aspiring to become the preeminent AI data center hub in Northeast Asia.
