On October 22, 2026 (Beijing Time), Walmart made an exciting announcement regarding the launch of its AgentGateway platform. This cutting-edge platform grants approved AI agents, including ChatGPT, Gemini, and Meta Muse, the ability to tap into the system, search for products, and finalize purchases on behalf of users. In terms of its rollout, the platform is set to become operational in November. Once live, it will offer users the convenience of managing the shopping permissions and spending limits of their AI agents. Users will have the flexibility to either approve transactions on an individual basis or set specific spending caps. In addition to the above, Walmart is also set to introduce the AgentProfiles feature. This feature will create distinct account authorization profiles for each AI agent, providing users with full control as they can delete these profiles at any given time. It's important to note that all orders placed by AI agents will adhere to Walmart's existing return policy. Moreover, to ensure user privacy and security, AI agents will not have access to users' payment information.
